Ordinary beginnings
INVAIZ's beginnings were not so extraordinary:
a group of students who dreamed of becoming artists, inspired by Egon Schiele, Andy Warhol, and Picasso.
Our dream was not to create masterpieces or make a big name for ourselves, but to realize the very definition of art.
The definition of art
Our definition of art was "breaking boundaries."
We thought that confronting different boundaries in the world was art.
Not only art in the form of painting or making music,
but also art in the form of someone's stereotypes, ideas, laws, institutions, etc.
INVAIZ's first voyage
Based on these thoughts, the members of INVAIZ gathered, and in 2018,
INVAIZ was launched in a small office of about 5 square meters in Busan.
Breaking down boundaries
The founders of INVAIZ were always thinking about the nature of design and art and how to express it.
We realized that while technology was advancing rapidly, the methods of expression were stuck on keyboards and mice, which were becoming more and more distant from the desire for expression. We started to look at everything we took for granted from a different perspective.
The reason why change and innovation had stopped for nearly 60 years was because small perceptions were dominated by the inconvenience and compromise of 'why'.
Direction of INVAIZ
We are confronting these ideas: to dismantle the ideas that impose discomfort on how we express design.
We believe that anyone can be an artist, a designer.
This is the first step INVAIZ has taken and the direction we will continue to take.
